A Ferrari, a 75ft luxury yacht and over $4million of discounted Matt Blatt furniture were all bought on the Grays marketplace in the last fortnight.
Grays, Australia’s premier online marketplace, has seen its business thrive in recent months.
Known for its vast range of retail categories, Grays caters for everyone, from those looking for a bargain at home to large commercial clients. Just some of its offerings include boats; wine; home appliances; electronics and jewellery, to name but a few of its extensive collection of goods for sale.
Demand for Grays items has soared despite COVID-19. In particular, the Classic Car category has been unexpectedly successful for such trying times, with the majority of listed cars sold, delighting sellers and Grays alike. It’s not just classic cars that have proven a hit, either: everyday car sales have also increased in popularity at Grays. Similarly, Home & Wine has been a top-selling category, with an average of a stunning 550,000 visitors per month looking to purchase wine and homewares.
This impressive success has been furthered by Grays’ launching of a number of new categories, including Business For Sale – which enables insolvency practitioners to use Grays to sell businesses in need; an unfortunate necessity during the current climate – as well as Caravans & Motorhomes and Boats.
The Grays team is more than capable of handling the amount of traffic on their site, with the evidence of its success speaking for itself: unique visitors have increased by 21%; there has been a 243% increase in buy now purchases when compared with the same period in 2019; the number of bidders on desktop has increased by 13%, while the app shows even more positive results at 22%.
CEO of Grays, Chris Corbin, stated that Grays’ success is thanks to how ‘everyone is now buying everything online’. In particular, some of Grays’ selling highlights include the sale of assets such as a 2008 Ferrari F430, which went for $236,709; a 2010 MY11 Aston Martin Vantage V8, which sold for $100,009 and a 2005 Sunseeker 75 Yacht, which was bought for an incredible $833,409.
Grays has also had a successful period selling Matt Blatt furniture, a brand renowned for luxury, with over 10,000 assets sold, including coffee tables, couches and bar stools, to touch upon just a few items to have graced Grays’ listings. More exciting still is Grays’ future: expect to see over 18,000 items from an Australian retail giant appear over the coming months, with goods ranging from fitness equipment to gaming and white goods. Brands available will include Apple, Sony, Samsung and LG, to name but a few of what consumers can expect to see on Grays.
Clearly Australians are embracing online marketplaces more than ever.
