Ten years since it’s since inception, the RabbitScan community website and mapping program has amassed 50,000 community records of rabbit activity, including 26,000 rabbit warrens and their treatment.
FeralScan Coordinator, Peter West said,
We constantly work with people that are using RabbitScan to monitor rabbit activity in their local area, and we actively connect them to resources, local groups and support.”
During the past 12 months alone, 7,000 records of rabbit problems have been entered by community groups and land managers, from south-western Western Australia to southern Tasmania. We have also helped landholder groups in urban and peri-urban areas with using RabbitScan to help them protect the values of their local area.”
