Rural community members across the Central West will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of Central West Local Land Services and apply for grants to support their community projects during November and December 2020.
The newly appointed Central West Local Land Services Board are seeking community input to inform future programs and services across the Central West region.
Central West Local Land Services Board Chair Susan Madden said the consultation will take place on the organisation’s newly launched community engagement platform which will also act as the application portal for the Resilient Communities Small Grants being offered concurrently.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the broader community have a meaningful contribution towards ensuring community values and perceptions are incorporated into our organisational planning,” Ms. Madden said.
“We are seeking the input of our staff and the community in an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of our business”.
The survey asks community members to identify what the agency is doing well and what areas could be improved or moved into, she said.
“This participation will assist in identifying major opportunities and threats that exist in agriculture, natural and cultural resource management, biosecurity and emergency management in the Central West region.”
Interested community members can have their say via the new Central West Community Engagement Hub. This platform will allow consultation and feedback to be provided without having to take time to attend a public workshop session.
Central West Local Land Services Community Engagement Officer Brooke Kirkman said in addition to participating in the design of programs and services, community groups of the Central West could use the Community Engagement Hub to apply for this year’s Resilient Communities Small Grants program.
“We are pleased to be launching round three of the Resilient Communities Small Grants Program”, said Community Engagement Officer, Brooke Kirkman.
“The program has been a great way to provide both a social and economic boost to many local community groups over the past two years, this is always a very well subscribed program, and we look forward to seeing this year’s applications.”
Participation in both the Consultation and Resilient Communities Small Grants program can be made through the Central West Community Engagement Hub at https://engage.centralwest.lls.nsw.gov.au
