Join outback photographer Fiona Lake on the bus to the Pooncarie Field Day

Landholders and community members have a wonderful opportunity to travel to and from the Pooncarie Field Day with the highly acclaimed outback photographer, Fiona Lake.

Western Local Land Services, who is again supporting the Pooncarie Field Day which is on Saturday, 4 May 2019, is bringing Ms Lake as a guest to the event where she will present a morning and afternoon session in the speaker’s tent, while also being available for a chat at the Western Local Land Services trade exhibit in the main marquee.

Ms Lake will be travelling to and from the field day on a bus that Western Local Land Services is organising and is open for community members to travel on. The bus will depart from the Alfred Deakin Centre in Mildura at 8 am and can pick up passengers at Fotherby Park in Wentworth. It will depart Pooncarie for the return trip at 3.30 pm.

An interesting fact about Ms Lake is that she is a fully licensed drone pilot, which is unique as less than two per cent of Australia’s licensed drone pilots are women.

Along with sharing her insights on using drones to benefit agricultural businesses and their usefulness for storytelling, Ms Lake will be able to answer questions on photography and making the most of the Western landscape.

Western Local Land Services District Veterinarian, Trent McCarthy, who is based in Buronga, will also be in attendance and available to answer any animal health enquiries.

A seat on the bus costs $15 and includes entry to the field day, offering great value.

Bookings are essential and can be made through Eventbrite.

Space is limited so get in early to reserve your seat.

In addition to the opportunity to meet and spend time with Ms Lake on the bus and at the field day, landholders and community members will have the chance to discuss a range of opportunities and seek advice from Western Local Land Services and a number of key stakeholders, including NSW Farmers, NSW Rural Financial Counselling Services, Western Landcare, NSW Water Minister’s Office and the NSW Department of Primary Industries Rural Resilience Officer.
