The streets of Alice Springs will be transformed into an alfresco art gallery when the Alice Springs Street Art Festival (ASSAF) takes place from 23 July to 8 August 2021.
The festival will see four of Australia’s top street artists Kaff-eine (Vic), Gus Eagleton (Qld), Brontë Naylor (Qld) and Miss Polly (Darwin) team up with local creatives Tamara Cornthwaite, Karine Tremblay, Mark Circus and Kim Donald to paint six new murals across the CBD.
The artworks will add a splash of vibrancy and life to the town centre while paying homage to the stunning Red Centre landscape and the local community.
Murals will appear at Alice Springs Hospital on Gap Road, the YHA on Leichhardt Terrace, the Alice Plaza underground carpark laneway near Hartley Street, Minerals House and House of Tallulah on Hartley Street, and the Red Hot Arts wall on Stott Terrace.
ASSAF also includes an opening weekend of celebrations, including Truck-in, a local food truck party featuring live music and art, plus a week of street painting with DJs and pop-up activities, arthouse film screenings, a mural reveal tour and a Street Art Festival party.
This event, supported by the NT Government, is being organised by Red Hot Arts Central Australia.
