Work to commence on Mitchell Highway roundabout

Dubbo Regional Council would like to advise the community that work on the Mitchell Highway and Wheelers Lane roundabout to improve its drought tolerance will commence this Sunday, 24 May 2020.

As part of the work a large deceased Eucalypt tree will be removed and replaced with a Pin Oak tree. The Pin Oak tree has been selected as a suitable replacement to continue the existing avenue of trees currently in place on the western and eastern sides of the roundabout.

Traffic control will be in place Sunday (May 24 2020) during the removal of the large Eucalypt tree.

The existing turf on the roundabout will be removed and replaced with drought sensitive landscaping and plant species. Landscaping work will continue for approximately two (2) weeks.

The work will be completed by end of June 2020.
