Time to test out that new lure - Palmerston Ponds restocked with Barra

The Territory Government have released 100 barramundi across a number of Palmerston lakes.

The initiative is part of the Territory Governments continued plan to support recreational fishing, tourism and local businesses across the Territory, all while enhancing our liveability and local activities for families.

The barra, which were bred locally at the Darwin Aquaculture Centre average around 45cm in size, making them a perfect catch for experienced fishos, beginners or young kids.

All Palmerston lakes have a strict catch and release policy, and anglers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with how to carefully release fish back into the water.
