The Ignition Mountain Bike Festival will return to Falls Creek in 2019 bigger and better than ever, thanks to support from the Victorian Government.
Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Martin Pakula announced the return of the festival, which will feature three days of riding, entertainment, coaching and delicious local produce backed by the Victorian Government’s $20 million Regional Events Fund.
Now in its third year, the festival welcomes riders of all skill levels and is delivered in a safe and non-competitive environment to encourage beginners to get involved and have a go.
Ignition Festival is becoming more popular with female riders, with 2019’s event to include more women’s only social rides, skills clinics and free women’s only beginner sessions.
There are activities for the whole family including a mountain bike movie festival, skills clinics, backcountry riding adventures and gravity shuttles along with an array of demo bikes, live music and local food and drink on offer after dark – as well as childcare services.
The Government’s Regional Events Fund helps rural and regional towns across Victoria secure a strong calendar of the events which create local jobs and enhance the liveability of local communities.
Tourism is a vital industry for Victoria’s High Country, which welcomed 3.8 million international and domestic visitors in the year to September 2018.
These impressive figures come off the back of the Victorian Government’s investment in tourism which have helped deliver more than 180 events across regional Victoria, attracting visitors and boosting local jobs.
The Ignition Mountain Bike Festival will be held from 22-24 November 2019.
