A podcast by the NSW Young Farmer Business Program (YFBP) called ‘Propagate’, which shares the personal stories of young farmers and fishers, was announced as the ‘Best Business Podcast’ at the Australian Podcast Awards.
Judged by 100 independent industry experts, media and listeners, ‘Propagate’ competed against more than 900 other entries.
YFBP Coordinator, Alexandra Hicks said the podcast explores the tough conversations that farming families can have about succession planning because with different perspectives, intentions and heightened emotions – it can be hard to get everyone on the same page.
“The Young Farmer Business Program is an innovative business focused government program, aimed at 18-35 years, run by the NSW Department of Primary Industries,” Ms Hicks said.
“It is designed to push boundaries and has engaged with over 5,000 young farmers since 2017.
“I want to thank the courageous young farmers who shared their incredible real and heartfelt stories of working with family. We wanted this podcast to help young farmers and fishers start succession conversations.”
