Rosewood United and QCSA soccer kicks off for 2024

The 2024 season kicked off this week, with hundreds of families coming together and teams competing across the region.

The Rosewood under-11 team, which took the QCSA Premiership for 2023, is returning as under-12s under their returning coach, Tori-Lee Ross.

“The team has come a long way. 2023 was their first year on the full-sized field, and for many of them, it was their first year playing soccer. In my eyes, they are champions with the level of sportsmanship I see every game,” said Tori-Lee Ross today, returning as this year’s Under 12 coach.

“Playing builds friendships, confidence, sportsmanship and gets kids moving. It is so important for young people today.

“Joining in is a huge opportunity for young people to develop respect and time management. It focuses them on training and teaches them to work as a team and not just as individuals.

The Rosewood United Soccer Club has grown and demonstrated an amazing swell of support in the region. New teams can join the rosters with additional members, including new under-12 and under-13 girls’ and senior men’s teams.

Club President Tammy Crawford is leading the club again this year, and her dedication and commitment have resulted in an amazing outcome for a fast-growing community that is getting behind the club at every step of the way.

“Rosewood is a family club and we all pitch in as a community. This year we are growing and delivering even more with an over 30’s team, an all-girls under 13 and under 12 team. Rosewood United Club President, Tammy Crawford, said we are investing in an under 17’s developmental team today.

“It is so important for people of all ages to keep fit and move, especially us older people, ” said River Night, whose son was in under 11’s team last year.

“I’d encourage people of all ages to get involved in their local teams and play regardless of skill levels as it is so important for both physical fitness and mental health and connecting with the community. I’ve joined the senior men’s team this year and while I’m sore after our first game its fantastic exercise.”
