Road realignment fencing takes out national Rural/Farm Fencing Award

WNS Contracting was awarded for its exceptional delivery of a complex, multi-stage fencing project as part of a significant Transport for NSW (TfNSW) road realignment at ‘The Rocks’. This long-running contract showcased technical foresight, adaptability, and outstanding stakeholder engagement.

Stage 1 involved dismantling the existing boundary and installing a temporary fence to allow roadworks, culvert installation, and service adjustments. Anticipating future needs, WNS installed permanent strainers based on surveyor markers – preventing re-survey costs, preserving the work zone boundary, and ensuring correct placement for new utilities.

Years later, WNS returned to complete the final boundary fence. During this phase, both landholders requested to retain the temporary fence, effectively creating dual fencing for future tree lanes. However, each had negotiated different permanent fencing specifications with TfNSW – details that had not been communicated through official channels. WNS’s strong relationships with the landholders enabled early identification of this issue and seamless resolution, avoiding delays or rework.
