The WA Government has released another fee-free short course as part of the $229.2 million investment in TAFE and training to build a pipeline of skilled workers and support the State’s economic recovery.
The new Introduction to Production Horticulture Skill Set will prepare workers for entry level jobs in horticulture.
The Western Australian horticulture industry is a significant employer in regional and remote communities, and the new short course will provide relevant skills for those looking for a job in the billion-dollar industry. It is fee-free for young people, concession students and displaced workers.
Fifteen job-ready and infection control short courses were rolled out in July 2020 as part of the WA Government’s Rebuilding our TAFEs initiative, which is key to the WA Recovery Plan and assisting in job creation.
There have been more than 2,350 enrolments in those skill sets, highlighting the demand for free short courses to help displaced workers and young people get into jobs.
