Rebecca Andrews has taken up the position of Queensland State Head for the Australian Industry Group.
Ai Group is a peak employer organisation representing traditional, innovative and emerging industry sectors and across the country represents the interests of more than 60,000 businesses employing more than 1 million staff.
With more than 20 years of professional experience in both private and public organisations, a background in economic and community development and experience as a business owner, Rebecca brings a strong understanding of challenges and opportunities facing business and industry to Ai Group.
She previously led the Office of Small Business within the Queensland Government, which involved working closely with government, stakeholders and business and industry to ensure effective development of policy and programs.
“I am passionate about helping business and industry to succeed,” Rebecca said.
“As Queensland businesses respond to the need to adapt to new and emerging technologies and shape their workforces of the future, there has never been a more important time for the needs of business to be heard across all levels of government and the community in general.
“There is also much to be learned by ensuring the right connections within the business sector are encouraged and nurtured, which is why an organisation like Ai Group is so important to the ongoing prosperity of our communities.”
Before working in Government, Rebecca previously worked in economic development and tourism in the Whitsundays, New Zealand and South Australia.
