Victorians will have the opportunity to experience the best of art and culture in their hometowns with the Victorian Government boosting touring opportunities in regional and outer metropolitan areas.
Victorian Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson invited creative and community organisations with plans to hit the road – or bring shows to their region – to apply for grants through the Touring Victoria and Small Regional Presenters programs.
Touring Victoria offers grants to Victorian arts and cultural organisations or professional performers and creatives to tour professional productions, performances, exhibitions or programs to regional and outer-metropolitan Victoria.
Projects that have received Touring Victoria support in previous years but had to shift their plans to 2021 or beyond due to the pandemic can also apply for support to remount their tour and put COVIDSafe measures in place.
The Small Regional Presenters program offers grants to regionally based not for profit community presenters – including community organisations and local government bodies – to bring performing arts shows to their community or venue that they know will appeal to local audiences.
The program is open to the full spectrum of performing arts and live shows, including theatre, music and literary events. This round of the program will be managed by Regional Arts Victoria on behalf of the Government.
COVIDSafe funding will also be available to presenters previously supported through the Small Regional Presenters Program that had to postpone their shows to 2021.
A total of $1.1 million is available in grants to present works in regional Victoria. This comes as part of the Victorian Government’s $40 million investment in dedicated support for creative reactivation and renewal in regional and outer metropolitan Victoria, announced in the Victorian Budget 20/21.
Applications close 25 March 2021 for the Touring Victoria program and applications close 23 March 2021 for Small Regional Presenters program.
