Some Territorians who have purchased land and signed a contract to build but haven’t started construction are now eligible to receive the BuildBonus, but they need to be quick.
Increased demand brought about by the combination of BuildBonus and Homebuilder grants, along with a heavy wet season, has delayed subdivision and building work and the Territory Government removed a requirement that construction had to have started in order to be eligible for the grant.
To support Territorians to complete the construction of their new homes, the Territory Government will extend BuildBonus for those Territorians who have executed contracts to purchase land and to build a home, on or prior to 31 March 2021.
Territorians are reminded they have until the 14th of April 2021 to submit a BuildBonus application if they are eligible.
Applications for contracts to purchase land and build that were signed on or after 1 April 2021 are not eligible to be lodged.
