Consumer Grants to bolster energy sector advocacy

WA Energy Minister Bill Johnston opened the first round of the Western Australian Advocates for Consumers of Energy (WA ACE) grants.

The WA ACE grants support projects that raise the voice of household and small business consumers in the energy sector, honouring a commitment made in the 2019-20 State Budget.

Eligible companies will be able to apply for project funding up to $50,000.

The WA ACE Grants have been established to:

  • support energy advocacy activities;
  • build knowledge and capacity of energy consumer advocates; and
  • promote solution-focused consumer-centric research in the energy sector.

Round one applications close on September 10, 2020.

The WA ACE Grants form part of a broader program working to amplify the input of consumers into energy policy.
