CANEGROWERS has expressed strong support for Queensland’s Liberal National Party (LNP) leader David Crisafulli’s recent commitment to bolster Mossman’s sugarcane industry should the party win the upcoming state election.
At the Rural Press Club in Brisbane, Mr Crisafulli announced a $12.5 million support package, including $6 million to secure Mossman’s 2025 crop and another $6 million to enhance productivity and modernise the local mill.
This announcement provides much-needed confidence to growers facing uncertainty after the mill’s liquidation earlier this year.
