Goulburn Mulwaree Council is delighted to announce Debra McConnell, Noel Sylvester and Ruth Doggett as the recipients of the 2025 Goulburn Mulwaree Award.
Debra McConnell was recognised for her outstanding contribution to music and the arts in the Goulburn community. Debra is a founding member of the Rocky Hill Musical Theatre Company who continues to generously volunteer her time conducting and rehearsing musical performances. She also supports aspiring musicians through her work at the Goulburn Conservatorium of Music, where she mentors students.
Noel Sylvester was recognised for his long-standing commitment to the Windellama and Tarago communities through tireless service with several local organisations. His volunteer roles include work with the Windellama Rural Fire Brigade, First Responders, SES Unit, and the Tarago Men’s Shed, where his dedication has made a lasting difference.
Ruth Doggett received recognition for her remarkable dedication to charitable work across the Goulburn region, particularly through her ongoing involvement with Can Assist. Ruth is also an active member of the Goulburn Quilters Group, whose handcrafted quilts are donated to the local oncology unit to provide comfort and warmth to patients undergoing treatment.
Debra, Noel and Ruth received their awards during the Goulburn Lilac City Festival Opening Ceremony, held in Belmore Park on Saturday, 4 October 2025.
