Creativity and community spirit are coming together in Goulburn, as students from the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery’s High School Afternoon Art Club unveil their artistic contribution to the 2025 ‘Cash for Care’ fundraiser in support of Goulburn Base Hospital and community health services.
The students were challenged to design this year’s Goulburn icon outline, choosing one of their favourite local landmarks and transforming it into a stylised line drawing. The final design, inspired by the heritage-listed Goulburn Post Office, was scaled up into a large mural outline collaboratively transferred by the group, a process that encouraged teamwork, creativity and leadership.
‘Cash for Care’, formerly known as ‘Mile of Pennies’ and ‘Coins for Care’, celebrates its 15th year in 2025. Volunteers will be collecting donations (cash and EFTPOS available) from 9am to 12pm on Saturday 11 October, along Auburn Street and other local sites, before depositing the funds to fill the mural outline in Belmore Park.
Since its inception, the fundraiser has provided more than $800,000 worth of vital equipment for Goulburn Base Hospital and community health services.
Locals are invited to visit Belmore Park on 11 October to admire the students’ artwork and add their own contribution, supporting both young local talent and better care for the community.
