100,000 new covid-19 vaccine appointments set to come online

The Territory Government is set to deliver more than 100,000 new COVID-19 vaccine appointments in the Top End.

This comes as a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic is set to open at Palmerston next month.

The new vaccination clinic, based at the Palmerston Hub, will deliver at least 2000 extra appointments per week and open to all Territorians from September 1.

This increase in capacity will ensure the Territory Government can effectively administer the increased supply of vaccines the Commonwealth is expected to provide.

The Territory Government’s vaccine rollout continues to progress well with almost 160,000 vaccines administered since February.

More than 51% of Territorians have now received their first dose and 32% have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

The remote rollout is tracking well with 42% of remote Territorians who have received their first dose and 25% now fully vaccinated.

In addition, Territorians will continue to see a steady supply of vaccine appointments in Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and remote communities.

Territorians can also book appointments at a participating GP clinic, respiratory clinic or community pharmacy.
