$116m affordable land package to drive growth in regional WA

A $116 million Regional Land Booster package is set to drive investment in regional Western Australia, boosting the economy, creating regional jobs and assisting regional businesses to recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

The WA Government, through Development WA, will make land more affordable for 1,095 development-ready industrial, commercial and residential lots across WA, saving land buyers a combined $116 million.

WA Lands Minister Ben Wyatt announced the first stage of the package in the Pilbara where the Regional Land Booster package will apply to 376 lots across nine projects, including four estates in Karratha.

At Madigan Estate in Karratha residential lots will now be available from $95,000, a saving of $24,000.

The Regional Land Booster package will also apply to other Pilbara estates including Tambrey Mixed-Use, Gap Ridge Industrial and Gap Ridge Bulky Goods, Newman Residential, Onslow Residential, South Hedland’s Town Centre and Port Hedland’s Hedland Junction Industrial estate.

The package will be rolled out to other WA regions over the coming weeks.

Delivering more affordable land in regional areas is expected to stimulate the regional building and construction sector, driving business investment and creating regional jobs.

The Regional Land Booster package comes in addition to the State Government’s $20,000 Building Bonus Grant and the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder grant.

Eligible land buyers will also be able to take advantage of up to $69,000 in grants through these State and Commonwealth grants.
