Construction of the new Toodyay Sports Precinct is set to begin, thanks to a $1.79 million contribution from the WA Government.
WA Premier Mark McGowan visited Toodyay to announce details of the project and to meet local community sporting clubs.
The project – funded jointly by Federal, State and local governments – will provide Toodyay with a multipurpose sporting pavilion; new tennis, netball and basketball courts; and relocate the existing hockey and soccer fields to a new location with floodlighting.
Located next to Toodyay District High School, the new precinct will become a hub for grassroots sport providing new facilities for the community’s 4,500 residents.
The State Government’s contribution is funded through the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF), which provides funding to local clubs for sport and recreation projects, and Lotterywest.
