Territory mineral exploration expenditure reaches eight year high

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released new data which shows that Territory mineral exploration expenditure in financial year 2018/19 was 21% higher than financial year 2017/18.

Territory mineral exploration expenditure for financial year 2018/19 was a strong $131.9 million – including $32.5 million in the most recent June 2019 quarter which is up 15% on the same quarter in 2018.

The figure recorded for Territory mineral exploration expenditure in financial year 2018/19 is the highest for any financial year since 2011/12, at the end of the last mining boom.

These latest figures continue the strong Territory growth trend seen over the past two years, and provide an excellent start to NT Resources Week to be held in Darwin.

NT Resources Week sees some of the Territory’s foremost resource and construction events combine to be a world-class week of conferencing, exhibition, networking events, and industry panellists in a comprehensive look at the industry as a whole under one roof at the Darwin Convention Centre.

NT Resources Week 2019 features the South East Asia Australia Offshore and Onshore Conference (SEAAOC), Mining the Territory and, for the first time, the Environmental Management and Logistics Forum.

In its 12th year, NT Resources Week has become an internationally recognised forum, and is supported by the Northern Territory Government.
