Support continues, despite shows being cancelled or postponed

There has been an outpouring of support from the Dubbo region, with local businesses still keen to bring shows to the region after signing on for sponsorship of the 2020 season. The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) is able to bring high-profile shows to the region with support from its sponsors, who have a passion for the performing arts. DRTCC Manager Linda Christof says that without sponsors, many shows and upgrading equipment throughout the year would not be possible.

“We’re so thankful that our sponsors have chosen to continue their support during the toughest year yet, with Top Hat sponsor Astley’s Plumbing and Hardware offering to cover the cost of updating the motherboard of the theatre’s lighting console, and the acquisition of touch-screen monitors. This will enable enhanced functionality with regard to intelligent and LED luminaires,” Ms Christof said.

“The contribution of sponsors helps to bring high-calibre productions to the Dubbo region for the annual theatre season, allowing regional and remote audiences the same experiences as metropolitan counterparts,” Mayor of the Dubbo Region, Councillor Ben Shields said.

Top Hat sponsor David Payne Constructions says it supports the theatre because as a local company, it likes to support local communities. “My personal interest in the arts is very minimal, but I have trust in the management and staff in the way they operate this award-winning facility,” said David Payne, Managing Director.

O’Brien Electrical is another Top Hat sponsor because they also believe it’s a great way to support the local community.

“The theatre offers the Dubbo regional community a diverse range of entertainment at a reasonable cost that they don’t have to travel for. O’Brien Electrical Dubbo believes that we are actually sponsoring the regional community as this is where we do business and we’re giving back to this community,” said Alex Klaasens, Managing Director of O’Brien Electrical.

The DRTCC season sponsors for 2021 are:

  • David Payne Construction – Top Hat Sponsor
  • O’Brien’s Electrical Dubbo – Top Hat Sponsor
  • Astley’s Plumbing and Hardware – Top Hat Sponsor
  • Kings Hall Jewellers – Season Launch Sponsors
  • Paula O’Leary Physiotherapy – Curtain Raiser Sponsor
  • Brennan’s Mitre 10 – Curtain Raiser Sponsor
  • Dubbo Dental – Curtain Raiser Sponsor

“We’re looking forward to what will be another exciting theatre season and will be delighted to start welcoming people back to the DRTCC when restrictions ease, from July 1 (2020),” said Ms Christof.
