Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) wishes to advise all recreational river users such as boaters, canoeists and kayakers that due to high river flows currently being experienced along the Macquarie River, the warning buoys upstream of the South Dubbo Weir have detached from one side of the river.
All users are requested to exercise extreme caution when approaching the weir, and use the boat portage on the southern side as usual.
Reinstatement of the buoys will be undertaken when river level and flows reduce to an acceptable level.
