Perimeter fencing for NT reserve

The first stage of works to upgrade Purkiss Reserve will get underway soon, with the contract to deliver new perimeter fencing awarded to local company Harvey Developments (NT) Pty Ltd.

Harvey Developments is based in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.

The Northern Territory Government is investing $9 million towards a major overhaul of the Reserve which will see new and upgraded sport and recreation facilities for the community to enjoy, particularly families and young people.

Works will include a new playground, multipurpose field, cricket nets, fitness stations, barbecue and seating areas and a bike and walking path.

There will also be new parking facilities, upgraded lighting, new fencing and a resurface of the outdoor courts.

Member for Barkly, Gerry McCarthy said, “The upgrading of the existing perimeter fence is the first of a number of upgrade packages that will be released to public tender over the coming months.”
