Coming off a busy Christmas season, Adelaide’s own Festival Statesmen are now gearing up for their 1970’s A Cappella musical comedy ‘Tough Boys’ in February 2020 as part of the Adelaide Fringe.
In the wake of 3 SOLD OUT Fringe seasons, and set to an all-70’s soundtrack, ‘Tough Boys’ will see the Festival Statesmen reviving Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers and Blondie classics just to name a few.
The A Cappella musical comedy, written by Festival Statesmen’s Nicholas Munday, is sure to provide wit and hilarity in equal measure, paired with the award-winning harmonies that the Statesmen are known for. ‘Tough Boys’ is being performed at the Arkaba Hotel on February 22nd 2020 and 23rd 2020.
The end of 2019 saw the Festival Statesmen Chorus embrace the festive spirit with performances at two significant South Australian Christmas celebrations.
The Statesmen were proud to be a part of the iconic National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant.
As South Australian locals it was very humbling for them to be invited to perform in this annual Adelaide event.
The Festival Statesmen were also fortunate enough to be among the guest artists at the Civic Park Carols to an audience of over 40,000.
With proceeds this year going to The Sebastian Foundation, Civic Park Carols showcased its home-grown talent with the Statesmen joining other Adelaide-born artists such as Guy Sebastian, Jazmine Selita Vanua, Oscar Bridges and Young Adelaide Voices.
Whilst their A Cappella performance of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ brought a tender tone to the evening, the true highlight for the Festival Statesmen was when they took on Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’.
Accompanied by the Civic Park Carols Big Band, the Statesmen gave it their all to do justice to this contemporary Christmas anthem.
