Farm Business Financial Management for dry seasons

Farm business planning, risk management and financial literacy will be the focus at a series of two- day workshops being held across the Wimmera and Mallee this May and June 2019.

Agriculture Victoria has joined with Partners in Ag to deliver the workshops which have been designed to help farmers to prepare for, and survive, the impacts of dry seasonal conditions.

Presented by business facilitator and trainer Tony Hudson of Hudson Facilitation, day one of the workshop will explore the basics of farm business management with advice on how to identify, plan for and manage risk.

Day two will cover strategies to manage dry seasonal conditions with information on how to put information together for your bank, accountant or financial planner.

With two hours of one-on-one mentoring included as part of these workshops, participants will gain a better understanding of the current financial position of their business, including a realistic picture of cashflow for the next 12 to 18 months, and practical steps they can take to meet their business goals.

Warracknabeal participant Tracy Dart praised Tony Hudson’s expertise and said attending a workshop was the best farm management decision she had ever made.

The workshops will be held at the following locations:

  • Red Cliffs – 21 May 2019 and 4 June 2019
  • Manangatang – 22 May 2019 and 5 June 2019
  • Horsham – 6 June 2019 and 13 June 2019
  • Boort – 11 June 2019 and 18 June 2019
  • Donald – 12 June 2019 and 19 June 2019.
