Alan Carpenter appointed to DevelopmentWA Board

WA Lands Minister Ben Wyatt announced that the State Government’s development agency DevelopmentWA has appointed Mr Alan Carpenter as a Director on its Board.

The DevelopmentWA Board comprises of both the Western Australian Land Authority (WALA) and Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) boards.

Mr Carpenter brings with him a wealth of experience, strong leadership skills and significant governance proficiency.

Also as a former State Development Minister he will bring a depth of knowledge and a range of skills including public policy and budget expertise, strategy development and implementation, and stakeholder relations.

As the former executive general manager for corporate affairs of Australia’s largest private sector employer, Wesfarmers, Mr Carpenter also has significant experience in diverse corporate operations.

Mr Carpenter has been appointed to sit on both the WALA and MRA boards for the next two years.

Minister Wyatt also extended his thanks to the outgoing Board Director Ms Kylee Schoonens for her contribution, engagement and leadership over the last four years.

During her time on the WALA and MRA boards she actively contributed to and chaired a number of committees and helped drive excellence in development outcomes.

Current Director Ms Dale Page will have her tenure on both the WALA and MRA boards renewed for a further three years.
