Progress on the Belvoir Park off leash dog area is moving along at a rapid pace.
Fence construction will commence next month and then an official opening will be scheduled.
Signs will be installed to inform owners of the park etiquette and there will be secure gates.
This will help to prevent any dogs being outside the park without a leash.
Neighbourhood Power Co-ordinator Rebekah Pick said council acknowledged there had been a number of concerns about the establishment of the dog park.
"We trust, however, that it will be a huge asset to Wodonga through increasing animal friendly activity, social interaction between residents and overall enjoyment of our great parks,' she said.
"There are plenty of opportunities for community involvement in the final stages of this project and in maintaining it once it's up and running.'
